The Sosua-Cabarete area (8 miles between the two towns) is very much in demand due to its diversity in natural scenery and attractive prices. This area hosts many different beaches, one of them being the beautiful white sand beach of Sosua Bay with its clear waters and perfect snorkel possibilities. Another beach is in Cabarete which is famous for water sports such as kite boarding and wind surfing. Between Sosua and Cabarete are many secluded bays with mature nut trees and lush tropical vegetation. Both towns have many nice beachside restaurants and shops. A mountain range to the south provides an abundance of additional outdoor activities. The waterfalls and rivers offer cool fresh water swimming. The country roads and trails provide a great escape for mountain biking, horseback riding and hiking.
