The town of Sosua, located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, is made up of several dispersed areas that include El Batey, Los Charamicos, Playa Chiquita, La Mulata, El Choco, amongst several others. The greatest charm to Sosua is its cultural diversity which can be observed in the number of restaurants who offer a variety of international specialties. Foreign resident nationalities vary from Canadians, Americans, Germans, French, Italians, Dutch, Russians and many more. These new residents have found homes in many of the area's residential communities, be it either a sprawling villa in the hills or a breathtaking condo on the beach.

Sosua is a true international city and can be further appreciated by its beauty. Globally mentioned, is the Bay of Sosua where you can find the very beautiful and popular Sosua Beach, which houses the Sosua Marine Sanctuary. Close by is Playa-Parque Mirador, a newly formed natural beach, that surprised residents and beach lovers the world over. In addition, Sosua houses a permanent exhibition of Jewish History at the Jewish Museum, located next to the Synagogue. When it comes to Jewish history, Sosua holds a significant story in that an estimated 700 German and Austrian Jewish refugees were received and welcomed with Dominican visas between 1939 and 1945.

Close by and at only a 10 minute drive from Sosua is Cabarete. One can visit this bustling water aficionado retreat, home to a number of Kite Boarding, Surfing and Windsurfing schools and training centers. Cabarete hosts the annual Kite Boarding World Cup, the International Windsurf Classic and the Masters of the Ocean (Surfing). Due to the differences in lifestyle and attractions, both cities are a popular destination for residents and visitors of both Sosua and Cabarete. The recent growth is evident by the amount of newer villas and condominiums dotting the beachfront.
